We theoretically study current- and charge-induced spin torque in magnetic Weyl semimetals. In magnetic Weyl semimetals (WSM), topologically nontrivial band structure mediates anomalous coupling between magnetization and transport, making WSMs preferable for spintronics systems. In this paper, we determine all current-induced spin torques including spin-orbit torque and spin-transfer torque, up to first order with respect to spatial and temporal derivatives and electrical currents. We also calculate the charge-induced spin torque microscopically. We find the charge-induced spin torque originates from the chiral anomaly due to the correspondence between spin operators and axial current operators in our model.

Fabricating large, high-crystalline-quality single-crystal samples of hexagonal ferrite Ba(Fe$$_{1-x}$$Sc$$_{x}$$)$$_{12}$$O$$_{19}$$ is the first important step to elucidating its helimagnetic structure and developing it for further applications. In this study, single crystals of Ba(Fe$$_{1-x}$$Sc$$_{x}$$)$$_{12}$$O$$_{19}$$ of various Sc concentrations $$x$$ were successfully grown by the spontaneous crystallization method using Na$$_{2}$$O-Fe$$_{2}$$O$$_{3}$$ flux. X-ray diffraction and elemental analysis revealed that the obtained crystals were composed of single-phase Ba(Fe$$_{1-x}$$Sc$$_{x}$$)$$_{12}$$O$$_{19}$$ of high crystalline quality. The temperature dependence of magnetization and the magnetization curves at 77 K of the $$x$$ = 0.128 crystal exhibited behavior characteristics of helimagnetism. Neutron diffraction measurements of the $$x$$ = 0.128 crystal exhibited magnetic satellite reflection peaks below 211K, proving evidence that Ba(Fe$$_{1-x}$$Sc$$_{x}$$)$$_{12}$$O$$_{19}$$ behaves as a helimagnetic material.

Neutron polarization analysis has been carried out in order to clarify the magnetic structure of multiple order parameter $$f$$-electron system NdB$$_4$$. We confirmed the non-collinear "all-in all-out" structure ($$Gamma$$$$_{4}$$) of the in-plane moment. We found that the magnetic moment along the $$c$$-axis $$m_c$$ showed diagonally antiferromagnetic structure ($$Gamma_{10}$$). The unusual magnetic ordering is phenomenologically understood via Landau theory. We also found that a long-period incommensurate modulation of the ($$0,0,1/2$$) antiferromagnetic structure of $$m_c$$ with the propagation $$q_{s1}$$ = (0.14, 0.14, 0.1) and $$q_{s2}$$ = (0.2, 0, 0.1) in phase III and IV, respectively. It is clear that the multipole degree-of-freedom based on pseudo-quartet $$f$$-electron state play important role.

Crystal and magnetic structure of Ca$$_{3}$$Ru$$_{2}$$O$$_{7}$$

The crystal structure of the double-layered Ca$$_{3}$$Ru$$_{2}$$O$$_{7}$$ has been studied by convergent beam electron diffraction and powder neutron diffraction. The temperature dependence of the diffraction pattern reveals that all the lattice constants jump at the first-order metal-nonmetal transition at 48 K without a change of the space group symmetry of Bb21m. In the neutron diffraction experiment, an additional magnetic reflection emerges below the Neel temperature, 56K. A possible model for this antiferromagnetic ordering is proposed, in which model magnetic moments align ferromagnetically within the double layer and antiferromagnetically between the double layers. This model reasonably explains the characteristic field dependence of the magnetoresistance observed at around 6 T.

We have succeeded in growing single crystalline samples of NpTGa$$_{5}$$ (T: Fe, Co, Ni). Magnetic structures of these compounds have been studied by neutron diffraction experiment. We summarize the results of the unusual variety of magnetic structure occurred in NpTGa$$_{5}$$ and discuss in terms of electronic structural point of view.

We investigated the correlation between the thremomagnetic curve of Co$$_{2}$$Z-Type hexagonal barium ferrite, Ba$$_{3}$$Co$$_{1.8}$$Fe$$_{24.2}$$O$$_{41}$$ and its magnetic moment direction. The thermomagnetic curve shows two significant magnetization slumps at 540K and 680K. High-temperature neutron diffraction experiment and Rietveld analyses indicate that temperature rise from 523 to 573K makes the magnetic moments turn to the c-axis from a direction parallel to the c-plane most significantly. The change in average orientation of the magnetic moments must be induced by the disappearence of the contribution of cobalt to magnetism in this temperature.

The uranium intermetallic compounds UX$$_{3}$$ demonstrate a wide variety of magnetic properties, which depends on the strength of hybridization effect between the 5$$f$$-electron state of U atom and the $$s$$-,$$p$$-,$$d$$-electronic states of X atom. However, there are many uncertainties in the origin of these phenomena. UX$$_{3}$$ systems crystallizes in high symmetric structure, that is cubic AuCu$$_{3}$$ type. Therefore, the neutron diffraction measurement usually gives no conclusive information on the orientation of the total magnetic moment for UX$$_{3}$$ compounds because of their multi-domain structures. In this study we have succeeded to induce the anisotropic domain structure by applying the uniaxial pressure and prove the total magnetic moment of UGa$$_{3}$$ to be along the [011] axis.
